Kathryn Cui has more than 20 years of experience in legal practice. Kathryn is qualified to practice law in Mainland China (1989), Hong Kong SAR (2004)and England and Wales (2005).
Kathryn's main areas of practice include corporate finance, cross-border M&A, capital markets, compliance and dispute resolution. With a deep understanding of both common law and the Chinese legal system, coupled with knowledge of commercial operations in both China and the overseas market, Kathryn is able to provide process-driven, in depth and comprehensive, unparalleled legal support to assist with clients’ cross-border project management, as well as solving complex compliance issues.
Kathryn has provided legal services to numerous cross-border transactions and M&A projects, including assisting Koch Industry in the sale of its entire China business operations to Shell; Schneider’s acquisition of Leader & Harvest; the restructuring of Vaillant GmbH’s China business; the M&A & business expansion of China Resources Co. in China; the restructuring of Pico Denshi Group’s China business; SAF Holland GmbH acquisition of Beijing Corpco; Assisting China Aidi’s acquisition of mining business in Africa; Lenovo New Vision’s A+ round finance project and Beijing Gas Group’s debt issuing in Hong Kong; Assisting various foreign investors to smoothly winding up and closing down of their processing plants, WFOE, JV or Rep Office in China. Kathryn has also been rendering annual legal services to many domestic and foreign invested companies in China, including over 10 years’ legal service to Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Beijing.
