Hefu Zhang began his legal practice on China-Japan related business from early 1990s. He has over 10 years of working experience in Japan’s biggest law firm, where he developed China-related business with his co-workers. He is one of the earliest lawyers working on China-Japan related areas, as well as one of the earliest Chinese lawyer who acquired a Japanese lawyer qualification on foreign legal affairs.
He mainly works on Japan-related legal areas. During the past 30 years, he has undertaken hundreds of cases including both Japanese companies’ investment in China and the other way round. He has participated in many well-known cases such as Beijing Creat Group’s acquisition of HONMA.
As one of the typical lawyers in Japan-related areas, he had worked as chairman of the Federation of Japanese and Chinese lawyers and vice chairman of Association of New Overseas Chinese in Japan. He had been reported in the feature story “the journey of a Chinese lawyer” by NHK and many other newspapers in Japan.
