On December 10, 2017, the establishment ceremony of “Zhongnan University of Economics and Law Criminal Defense Research Institute,”  the Opening Ceremony of “Department of Justice of Hubei Province Criminal Defense Lawyer Education and Training Base” was held in Wentai Building, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law Nanhu Campus, and presided over by Prof. Yao Li, vice principal of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law.

Yang Canming, principal of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Tan Xianzhen, head of Hubei Provincial Department of Justice, Bin Zhou, deputy secretary of the Committee of Political and Legislative Affairs of CPC Wuhan Committee, Long Wang, secretary-general of Hubei Law Society, Prof.  Hanming Xu, director of the Research Center for Rule of Law Development and Judicial Reform, and Xin Jin, deputy procurator-general of Hubei Provincial People’s Procuratorate, unveiled “Zhongnan University of Economics and Law Criminal Defense Research Institute;” Prof. Handong Wu, director of the Academic Committee of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Prof. Wenyuan Qi, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Zhang Zhengjun, deputy head of Hubei Provincial Department of Justice, Zhiming Yao, commissioner of Hubei Higher People’s Court Trial Committee, Qinfang Yue, chairman of Hubei Lawyers Association, and Muping Qin, deputy president of Wuhan Intermediary People’s Court, unveiled “Department of Justice of Hubei Province Criminal Defense Lawyer Education and Training Base.”

Prof. Canming Yang, principal of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, presented the plaque of “Zhongnan University of Economics and Law Criminal Defense Research Institute” council member to lawyer Zhaojun Liu, director of East & Concord Partners Wuhan Office.  Bin Yang, partner of East & Concord, was appointed research fellow at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law Criminal Defense Research Institute.
